According to Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, mano-vak-kaya-dandam, or
strict control of the mind, speech and bodily activities, means
manasa-vacika-kayika-vikarma-rahityam; that is, one should rigidly abandon
all sinful activities with his mind, speech and body.

The three sins of: Body
1. *killing,*
2. *stealing, and*
3. *having sex with another's wife*
are called kayika, or those caused by the body

The three sins of : Mind
1. coveting other's wealth,
2. being devoid of compassion for all living entities, and
3. thinking "let my activities bear fruit"
are called manasika, or those caused by the mind.

*The four sins of: Speech*
1. *useless talk,*
2. *arrogance,*
3. *cruelty, and*
4. *telling lies*
are called vacika, or those caused by the speech
