Bad message of a messenger

Thank you for everyone that came in my life. I have learnt and still learning many lessons from each of you. In the course of time I am Learning my own tendencies, strengths and weaknesses.

When there is a bad message to a king, usually the messenger is fearful to bring such a message to the king because usually a king will put the messenger who brings bad message to death. It's not the fault of messenger but it's the destiny.

Similarly we may try to punish or develop hostility with the people who are instruments of our karma. But that will not help us in anyway. Patience and Tolerance will help us to see things in proper perspective and forgive them&accept reversals gracefully as mercy of The Lord.

Haridas Thakur was beaten at 21 market places until he was acting dead himself, he tolerated patiently. So what's the point in our sighing for blame or manipulation?

Over/under dosage kills a patient

A doctor who doesn't know the right amount of dosage to the right amount of patient is eventually going to kill the patient than helping him survive.

The duty of a spiritual master diksha/siksha guru is also similar. If there is over dosage or under dosage the patient will die. Therefore it is essential that there is conversations back and forth between the guru and disciple for better understanding. Blind faith and sentimentalism won't work.

Good advice about marriage, but they will not take it

From: "bhakti.vikasa.swami"

Radha-vallabha: He is nineteen years old, the boy that wrote that. And he
made arrangement with another devotee to marry her daughter at a later date.
She's only twelve. So I've told him not to do anything until I spoke to you,
because I don't think this has ever been done in our movement yet, the Vedic
system. So I had a few questions about it. First of all I told them that
they shouldn't associate until the actual time that they get married. That's
true, isn't it?
Prabhupada: No, no, [before] marriage, they do not speak. That is the
disease in your country, that... There is no objection nineteen-years-old
boy and twelve-years girl, it is very good combination, but the culture is
so bad that after few days they will separate.
Radha-vallabha: Yes. That's the actual problem.
Prabhupada: If they stick to have one husband and one wife, it is very good.
Or even the man can marry more than one wife. That is allowed in the Vedic
system. The difficulty is nobody remains as wife, nobody remains husband. It
is very dangerous. That is against Vedic... Otherwise man can have more than
one wife, but woman cannot marry more than one husband. But the system --
the boys and girls intermingle so freely, and in your country there is no
restriction -- naturally it becomes adulterated. That is the danger.
Radha-vallabha: So he wanted to know that...
Prabhupada: Knowing or no knowing, they'll not do it even. So what is the
use of consulting me? They'll break. They'll promise and they'll break. How
you can make them standardized? They will break.
Radha-vallabha: They have to be responsible people.
Prabhupada: They'll never become. That is my experience. So what is the use
of consulting me? They'll never become. Almost impossible. They'll not keep
standardized.
Radha-vallabha: So then it should just be up to them.
Prabhupada: What is the use of consulting? They'll promise and they'll
break.
Radha-vallabha: Yes, you were telling me in Hawaii about that, that that is
the difficulty. They have no responsibility. All right, I'll tell him that.
Prabhupada: Otherwise there is no objection. I married; my wife was eleven
years old.
Radha-vallabha: You were responsible, though.
Prabhupada: Everyone in India responsible. That is Indian culture still.
Radha-vallabha: When they agree at this young age, they should wait till
they get older, right?
Prabhupada: Yes. Generally a girl attains puberty at fourteen years,
thirteen years. In India, because it is tropical climate... I think in
Western countries they attain puberty not before fifteen, sixteen years. So
although a girl is married before puberty, she is not allowed to go to the
husband until she has attained puberty. Formerly, in our days also, after
attaining puberty there is another, second marriage. Then the husband and
wife live together.
Radha-vallabha: Is there a minimum age for the man?
Prabhupada: Minimum age means generally the husband must be older than the
wife, at least five years' difference.
Radha-vallabha: What is the most amount of years they can be different? What
is the maximum amount of years there can be difference?
Prabhupada: Man has no maximum. Even an eighty-years-old man can marry a
sixteen-years-old girl. [laughter]
Radha-vallabha: Because this one devotee has a daughter twelve, and he
wanted to marry her to a man twenty-six, but he thought that was too much
difference.
Prabhupada: Yes. That is too much difference. But eight years, ten years
usual.
Radha-vallabha: Eight or ten years is best. So he also wanted to know if...
Prabhupada: That is healthy.
Radha-vallabha: He wanted to know also...
Prabhupada: And in no case... The girl must not be older than the boy.
That's not good at all.
Radha-vallabha: At the time of the agreement, when they are not yet old
enough, they do not associate at all. So not until the actual marriage do
they associate or wear white or anything like that.
Prabhupada: No, even they can be married, but no association.

I love you.......

Devotion is the most fundamental drive of every living entity. "The basic principle of the living condition is that we have a general propensity to love someone. No one can live without loving someone else." (NOD, p. xv)

[granthraj] Effects of Tolerance

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

When people trouble/irritate us, give us pain, speak with us angrily, our normal natural tendency is to retaliate. The golden words, "No counteraction is the best counteraction", gets evaporated from our hearts and all we want to do is to take the judgement rod in our hands and punish the people who offend us. But if we introspect ourselves, how many times were we peaceful after such retaliation? Did it do any good to us or the people who offend us? The answer is always a "No". It only caused us more pain and suffering, and made others more and more inimical to us. So neither do we progress spiritually or materially, nor do we help other souls to go close to Krishna.

Ramayana tells us how Bharatha and Shatrughna were not present in Ayodhya at the time of Rama's exile. So once they returned to Ayodhya, they were shocked to hear about the death of king Dasaratha and Rama's exile to the forest, along with Sita and Lakshman for a period of 14 years. They became all the more furious when they heard that Kaikeyi had caused all this chaos, being instructed by her servant Manthara. After doing the final rites for their father, the sons returned to the palace. On the way they met Manthara and pulling her into the palace, Shatrughna said, "This wicked one shall now reap the fruits of her evil deeds! She has brought acute and unbearable pain to all in this house, as well as to all the citizens of Ayodhya. Watch now as I punish her!"

He dragged Manthara violently across the floor and her ornaments broke and scattered. Kaikeyi heard her servant screaming and came quickly to help her. Seeing her, Shatrughna began rebuking her with harsh words. Kaikeyi was pained by Shatrughna's sharp words and ran to Bharata for protection. Bharata moved away from his mother and spoke to the furious Shatrughna. He said "Even when sinful, women should never be slain. You should therefore forgive this maidservant. Indeed, I would have slain My own mother if the eternal moral law did not forbid it—and certainly such an act would never be pleasing to Rama. Our pious brother would never speak with Us again if He heard that We killed this woman."

Bharatha was definitely angry with his mother as well as with Manthara. But he was more concerned not to displease Lord Ram by punishing these women. This is a very important lesson for us. We are reminded of conversation between one devotee and our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj. That devotee asked Maharaj, "After your physical absence, if some one misbehaves, how to deal with them?" Maharaj gave a beautiful response. "Whenever you are speaking with that person, just think that I am standing right there next to you." Many a times we wrongly think Guru and Krishna are far far away and that it is our duty to take the judgement rod. As soon as we start thinking like that both Guru and Krishna will become silent spectators of our deeds and we will have to suffer the reactions for the same. On the other hand when we tolerate the miseries, just to please Them, then They will guide us to come out of all entanglements. Maharaj also used to say that the more you tolerate, the more good you do to your offenders.

In the above instance we find that Bharatha's statements, made Kaikeyi realize that she had done a grave injustice to Lord Ram. She had always loved Ram and wondered how she decided to send him to exile. She didn't feel like blaming Manthara also as she began to understand that it was all due to will of providence and even Manthara was just a instrument in the hands of destiny. So here we see that by not punishing Kaikeyi, Bharatha was able to help her realize her mistake.

So we pray at the lotus feet of Gurudev, Srila Prabhupada and Sri Krishna to help us to always remember Their presence next to us, so that we sanely tolerate the onslaughts of material nature. Only such tolerance can give us real peace of mind.

Thank you very much
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Sudarshana devi dasi

I feel so close to You right now

The most toughest times of my life gave me the strength and hard heartedness to deal with tough things and tough people in the world. But in reality even though I had difficulties in formal sadhana, I realized i lost something great and valuable and I was crying everyday for being unable to fix the sadhana. I felt so close to You by then more than at other times my Lord.

More sastric backup to "Medicine in candy - restricted sense enjoyment in pious activities"

From: Priyadarshini bvks

yesterday only i came across these words in SB 11th canto.ch-21 text 25. you also wrote the same in your words without changing the meaning. these are those lines in SB: Vedas promise innumerable material rewards even promotion to heavenly planets, to those who faithfully execute the vedic injunction. Lord Krishna explains such rewards are like the candy offfered to a child, who then faithfully takes his medicine.
Material enjoyment is certainly the cause of suffering since all enjoyable objects are subject to destruction along with the so-called enjoyer.Material life is simply painful and full of anxiety, frustration and lamentation. We become agitated by seeing a so-called enjoyable object, such as the naked body of a woman, a beautiful residence, a sumptous tray of food or the expansion of our own prestige, but actually such imagined happiness is simply the intense expectation of a satisfaction that never comes. One remain perpetually frustrated in material existence, and the more one tries to enjoy, the the more one's frustration increases.
Therefore, the vedic knowledge which aims at ultimate peace and happiness on the spiritual platform cannot possibly authorize the materialistic way of life. Material rewards are employed by the vedas merely as inducement for the conditioned soul to take the medicine , Submission to the Supreme Lord.
But those who are  veda vata rata claim that religious scripture are meant to facilitate sense gratification in the ignorance of the conditoned life.
Srimad Bhagavatam is our real friend, this i realise now. how the words are slashing us.

Our Supreme Lord Sri Krishna also has similar plans for our disease which is to enjoy the matter. There are samskaras in the form of pious activities which also has restricted sense enjoyment in it. The whole idea and the purpose is to regulate our addiction to bad habits and purify us so that we can experience the love with Him. The purpose is not to increase our material sense pleasure but to gradually make us forget it.

Flash news : Universities making millions of rats

One time there was a news that the Himalayan mountain is going to give birth to children and there was a huge crowd to see when the child mountains are going to come. Finally, they noticed rats coming out from the mountain after such a long awaited time. Similarly the big universities of the world are creating only rat like people and not those that can help the society. The defect of modern education is it's failure to see the hand of God in everything and is producing millions of rats and Godless civilization with no aim in life.

What are you waiting for?

There are six principles favorable to the execution of pure devotional service: (1) being enthusiastic, (2) endeavoring with confidence, (3) being patient, (4) acting according to regulative principles [such as śravaṇaṁ kīrtanaṁ viṣṇoḥ smaraṇam – hearing, chanting and remembering Kṛṣṇa], (5) abandoning the association of nondevotees, and (6) following in the footsteps of the previous ācāryas. These six principles undoubtedly assure the complete success of pure devotional service.

Is it from me or Kali?

HH.Kadamba Kanana Swami Maharaja: Kali is an agent of maya ultimately. In the Srimad Bhagavatam it is described that along with the mental sons of Lord Brahma, who are different sages, adharma also appeared from Brahma. And then in line with adharma, Kali took birth as one of his sons. And kali married harsh speech. Kali in the Mahabharata is described as one of the lowest of celestials. And then it is described that once there was King Nala. King Nala was a wonderful and great personality and there was one issue, that King Nala desired Damayanti. Damayanti was also have all good qualities and she was having a svayamvara and he on the way to the svayamvara to ask Damayanti. Then on the way to the Svayamvara, Indra appears before Nala. So Nala offers his obeisances and says, 'My dear Lord Indra, please accept my most respectful obesiances, how can I serve you?'

'Ah, Nala,' Indra says, 'I am so pleased with your offering. I am so glad that you are so inclined to serve me. Could you do one thing for me?'

'Yes, yes! Whatever you desire!'

'Nala could you please go to Damayanti and tell her that I am desiring her to be my wife.'

And Nala said, 'But I myself am on the way to the svayamvara to meet Damayanti and to ask her for her hand.'

Indra said, 'you gave your word that you would do whatever I wanted. Then, are you going to break your word?'

So Nala went and Nala met Damayanti before the svayamvara and came as a messenger of Indra. And Damayanti looked at him and Damayanti was immediately attracted to him! And she looked at him and thought, 'foolish boy, what is wrong with you? Don't you see that you are meant for me?' and she said, 'no, you can tell Indra that I will not accept anyone else as my husband but Nala.' So Nala on the way back was again stopped by Indra, 'so, what did she say?' and Nala was totally honestly telling everything that happened. So Indra understood that it came from Damayanti and not from Nala. Then on the day of the svayamvara, not only Indra came but also Agni came and also Vayu came and they all were attracted to Damayanti and they all wanted Damayanti and therefore on the svayamvara, they all took the form of Nala and they all looked like Nala! So there were 4 Nala's! And Damayanti didn't which one of them was Nala and she stood there with the garland not knowing which one to garland! So then she prayed to the Supreme Lord, 'I pray that upon the strength of my chastity, that you may protect my chastity and that I may not garland the wrong man. So please guide me that I will garland the right one.' So she garlanded and in this way it was Nala. And all the other Nala's took their original, demigod forms. And they joined in the whole thing, they could see it was the will of the Lord and it was divine and they took in the mood of good spoors.

So Indra returned to the heavenly planets and everything was fine. Then, then Kali came and said, 'how can you tolerate? This is an insult to the celestials that an ordinary mortal, that just a mere human being dared to enter into competition with the devas. Totally disrespectful! Nala should have withdrawn! Damayanti all right; she's a woman, she might have had her emotions, but Nala should have observed the etiquette! And for breaking the etiquette, he must be taught a lesson! You please allow me, allow me to teach him a lesson…' Indra said, 'all right, tatastu, so be it!'

Then from that day on, Kali followed Nala around. Although it was not Kali Yuga yet, he had a license and he followed Nala around and when Nala was once neglectful in after using the bath, not washing his feet, Kali entered and Kali entered his consciousness and Kali was in the consciousness of Nala! And then Nala was also going through some pastime like Yudhisthira Maharaja- gambling match where he lost everything. And all along Nala thought that he was acting on his own accord and he was totally poor and he had nothing left. He had to leave his kingdom and went to the forest and Damayanti came and they were in the forest. And then Nala thought that, 'I can't offer Damayanti anything, I can't protect her, I'm useless…' and he just left Damayanti and he thought that that was a good decision and his own decision. But it is described in the Mahabharata that it was not his decision; that was the influence by Kali. And in this way, Kali possessed him and he made all kinds of ridiculous decisions but each time he thought that he was acting upon his own intelligence and this is how Kali works.

And thus, in this age, Kali is possessing everyone! It's not just that we are surrounded by the age of Kali and 'it is so bad, it is so bad, it is so bad, what are we going to do?' We are possessed by Kali and a further proof of that is found in Yudhisthira seeing the symptoms of the age of Kali and he saw sons were unobedient to their fathers, husbands and wives were fighting…so the mentality had changed. Kali had entered into their consciousness. So this is what is going on; we are possessed by Kali and all along we thought that it was us. And so many things we are doing being possessed by Kali. But by chanting the 16 syllables of the holy name the influence of Kali can be destroyed.

Therefore Kali in this way is acting like an agent of maya. Maya is ultimately controlling the totality of the material energy and is more powerful than Kali also. Kali is also subjugated to maya. He is not beyond. So in that way Kali is secondary to maya.

That's we say and do things and we say, 'it's me! It's really me! I have to do this, I feel compelled to do it because it's me!' It's not you, it's not us…No. Yes Aatish?

I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine

"I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine."
―Bruce Lee

The biggest disappointments in our lives are often the result of misplaced expectations.  This is especially true when it comes to our relationships and interactions with others.

Tempering your expectations of other people will greatly reduce unnecessary frustration and suffering, in both your life and theirs, and help you refocus on the things that truly matter.

Which means it's time to…

1.  Stop expecting them to agree with you.

You deserve to be happy.  You deserve to live a life you are excited about.  Don't let the opinions of others make you forget that.  You are not in this world to live up to the expectations of others, nor should you feel that others are here to live up to yours.  In fact, the more you approve of your own decisions in life, the less approval you need from everyone else.

You have to dare to be yourself, and follow you own intuition, however frightening or strange that may feel or prove to be.  Don't compare yourself to others.  Don't get discouraged by their progress or success.  Follow your own path andstay true to your own purpose.  Success is ultimately about spending your life happily in your own way.

2.  Stop expecting them to respect you more than you respect yourself.

True strength is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles.  It's about having faith and trust in who you are, and a willingness to act upon it.  Decide this minute to never again beg anyone for the love, respect, and attention that you should be showing yourself.

Today, look at yourself in the mirror and say, "I love you, and from now on I'm going to act like it."  It's important to be nice to others, but it's even more important to be nice to yourself.  When you practice self-love and self-respect, you give yourself the opportunity to be happy.  When you are happy, you become a better friend, a better family member, and a better YOU.  (Angel and I discuss this in more detail in the "Self-Love" chapter of 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently.)

3.  Stop expecting (and needing) them to like you.

You might feel unwanted and unworthy to one person, but you are priceless to another.  Don't ever forget your worth.  Spend time with those who value you.  No matter how good you are to people, there will always be one negative person who criticizes you.  Smile, ignore them, and carry on.

In this crazy world that's trying to make you like everyone else, the toughest battle you'll ever have to fight is the battle to be yourself.  And as you're fighting back, not everyone will like you.  Sometimes people will call you names because you're "different."  But that's perfectly OK.  The things that make you different are the things that make YOU, and the right people will love you for it.

4.  Stop expecting them to fit your idea of who they are.

Loving and respecting others means allowing them to be themselves.  When you stop expecting people to be a certain way, you can begin to appreciate THEM.

Pay close attention, and respect people for who they are and not for who you want them to be.  We don't know most people half as well as we believe we do; and truly knowing someone is a big part of what makes them wonderful.  Every human being is remarkable and beautiful; it just takes a patient set of eyes to see it.  The more you get to know someone, the more you will be able to look beyond their appearance and see the beauty of who they truly are.  (Read The Mastery of Love.)

5.  Stop expecting them to know what you're thinking.

People can't read minds.  They will never know how you feel unless you tell them.  Your boss?  Yeah, he doesn't know you're hoping for a promotion because you haven't told him yet.  That cute guy you haven't talked to because you're too shy?  Yeah, you guessed it, he hasn't given you the time of day simply because you haven't given him the time of day either.

In life, you have to communicate with others regularly and effectively.  And often, you have to open your vocal cords and speak the first words.  You have to tell people what you're thinking.  It's as simple as that.

6.  Stop expecting them to suddenly change.

If there's a specific behavior someone you care about has that you're hoping disappears over time, it probably won't.  If you really need them to change something, be honest and put all the cards on the table so this person knows how you feel and what you need them to do.

For the most part though, you can't change people and you shouldn't try.  Either you accept who they are or you choose to live without them.  It's might sound harsh, but it's not.  When you try to change people, they often remain the same, but when you don't try to change them – when you support them and allow them the freedom to be as they are – they gradually change in the most beautiful way.  Because what really changes is the way you see them.  (Read A New Earth.)

7.  Stop expecting them to be "OK."

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle, just like you.  Every smile or sign of strength hides an inner struggle every bit as complex and extraordinary as your own.

Remember that embracing your light doesn't mean ignoring your dark.  We are measured byour ability to overcome adversities and insecurities, not avoid them.  Supporting, sharing and making contributions to other people is one of life's greatest rewards.  This happens naturally if we allow it, because we all share very similar dreams, needs and struggles.  Once we accept this, the world then is a place where we can look someone else in the eye and say, "I'm lost and struggling at the moment," and they can nod and say, "Me too," and that's OK.  Because not being "OK" all the time, is perfectly OK.

Afterthoughts

People rarely behave exactly the way you want them to.  Hope for the best, but expect less.  And remember, the magnitude of your happiness will be directly proportional to your thoughts and how you choose to think about things.  Even if a situation or relationship doesn't work out at all, it's still worth it if it made you feel something new, and if it taught you something new.

A prayer to The Lord

My dear Lord, I am not afraid of the my rebirth for my innumerable reactions that accrue for my past and present actions but just that if you assure me to always help me remember You by keeping me in Your devotees' association and sing Your glories with millions of mouths like Ananta  deva, I can goto any part of the Universe without fear.  I am not undermining Your potency to rip off my sins but still seeking Your mercy always.

There is nothing more I need than that. You are already taking care of my necessities like my beloved father. I am confident that all the obstacles in the path of my devotional life will eventually move away as I become sincere and be absorbed in Your thoughts and glories. I love you my Lord :)

You are the only object of love and I have been foolishly reposing my love with those that doesn't deserve it. I hope I won't make the same mistake again and again.

My part of controlling the mind and senses is my responsibility and Your part is to always keep me at Your lotus feet. Your illusory energy is covering You from me and i have no strength on my own to uncover them or even to understand where I am.

Bhava Grahi Janardana

Bhava Grahi Janardana

The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna is also called Bhava Grahi Janardana. If you call a person by a slight variation of his name, the person wouldn't even turn to hear what you have to say. Say if you call me Danish instead of Dinesh, I wouldn't even know that you are calling me in a different way.

The Lord only sees the Bhava or the mood in which one approaches Him. Someone may be saying Kishta due to his not being able to pronounce the name but with more love than someone who says precisely as Krishna. But The Lord accepts only the Bhava or the mood of love and not just expert recitation of the names.

Lord is awaiting to receive His devotees quickly without any delay.

For the devotees who are aspiring to attain love for Krishna, He is very careful about what He gives to them. For this reason we find in the Bhagavatham that the material desires of devotees are sometimes fulfilled in the dreams only and not in reality. The Lord is awaiting to receive His devotees quickly without any delay. He doesn't care for any processes like leaving the body at darkness or light to leave the material world as in the case of yogis. He Himself comes on His carrier Garuda and picks His devotee without any delay.

Svarupa Damodara And Devotees Chant The Name Of Krishna Into Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Ear

Svarupa Damodara And Devotees Chant The Name Of Krishna Into Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Ear

Svarupa Damodara, along with Govinda, stayed by the door to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's room, and heard that he was awake throughout the entire night, chanting Hare Krishna very loudly. When they heard no more chanting, Svarupa Damodara entered the room but could not find Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. All the devotees became anxious and looked everywhere for Lord Chaitanya, using a small lamp. They found him lying unconscious in a corner. His body had become elongated and all the joints in His arms, legs, neck and waist were separated by at least six inches. They saw no breath coming from his nostrils and His body temperature was very low. Seeing this, all the devotees were very unhappy, but they began to chant the holy name of Krishna very loudly into the ear of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. After chanting in this way for a long time, suddenly Chaitanya Mahaprabhu arose with a loud shout of "Haribol!" and His body returned to normal

I am not hungry but I eat that which is offered with love

Lord Sri Krishna said, "One has to endeavor so much to worship demigods. If one just offers Me with love and devotion, a flower, fruit, leaf, water I accept, but they must be offered with love. I eat that which is offered with love, although I have no desires and I am not hungry. Devotion is the appetizer that creates My appetite. A devotee's mood of love makes Me eat. A pure heart with no other desires, that is Bhakti"

Story of two lazy men...

Story of two lazy men...

Two very lazy persons lived jointly in a room. One winter night the house they lived in caught fire. Their room soon was burning on all sides. One of the lazy persons, feeling extreme heat on his back, awoke. But he was too lazy to even open his eyes. He alerted his friend by merely saying "B-B", which stood for "Back Burning." The other lazy man, not bothering to even open his eyes, said "M-A", for "Move Aside." The first man moved around in the bed a little, but finding no comfort anywhere, said, "The night must be over and the sun must be up. How else could it be so hot? Look and see if you left a window open through which the sunshine is now burning my back." The second man said, "Oh, too much bother. How can I open my eyes?"
And so the two lazy friends were roasted in the flames.

This story illustrates the plight of a person who, after taking to devotional service, succumbs to laziness and is caught in the fire of maya. Even though maya is consuming him from all sides, he does not make a real effort to save himself. In his blind slothfulness, he supposes that his problems are not so bad and thus risks total ruination in spiritual life.

Only Lord Nityananda Can See Lord Chaitanya

Lord Nityananda Prabhu influenced all the devotees in the temple to dance, and finally He Himself began dancing. Lord Chaitanya was observing the dancing of Lord Nityananda Prabhu. Nityananda Prabhu could see this, but others could not. It is stated several times in Chaitanya-caritamrita, Antya-lila, Chapter 2 that Lord Chaitanya always appears wherever Nityananda Prabhu dances in ecstasy. Thus Lord Nityananda Prabhu's dancing is so sweet, it cannot be properly described with words. Lord Chaitanya personally comes to see it.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Falls Unconscious Hearing a Cowherd Boy's Flute

Balabhadra Bhattacharya submitted his prayer before Lord Chaitanya that he desired to go to the banks of the Ganges. So, the next morning, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu got up early and took His bath. Then He became filled with ecstatic love, thinking how He now had to leave Vrndavana. Balabhadra Bhattacharya saw Him and said, "Let us go to Mahavana [Gokula].
Saying this, he had Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu get aboard a boat and they crossed the river. Rajaputa Krishnadasa, the Sanodiya brahmana and Balabhadra Bhattacharya's assistant brahmana were also with them. While walking, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu understood that the others were fatigued, and He took them beneath a tree to sit down. Near that tree there were many cows grazing. Suddenly a cowherd boy blew on his flute. The Lord was immediately struck with ecstatic love and He fell to the ground unconscious. He foamed at the mouth and even His breathing stopped.
At that time, ten Muslim cavalry soldiers rode up to that spot and saw the Lord unconscious. The soldiers thought, "This sannyasi must have possessed a large quantity of gold. These four rogues here must have taken away that sannyasi's riches after killing Him by making Him take the poison dhutura." They decided to arrest the four persons and kill them. Krishnadasa and the Sanodiya brahmana were fearless and they spoke very bravely. The brahmana said, "You Pathana soldiers are all under the protection of your king. Let us go to your commander and get his decision. This sannyasi is my spiritual master, and I am from Mathura. I am a brahmana, and I know many people who are in the service of the Muslim king. This sannyasi sometimes falls unconscious due to the influence of a disease. Please sit down here, and you will see that He will very soon regain consciousness and His normal condition."
-Summary and quotations from Chaitanya-caritamrita, Madhya-lila, 18.148-170

Right is wrong and wrong is right - How is that?

Pure devotees are always protected by The Lord in everyway. He protects even the words that His pure devotees give for others. For this reason, it is cited many times that Srila Prabhupada gave his words that if we chant 16 rounds and follow four regulative principles, he will take us back to Godhead. So there is no doubt about this. The point is how much we give ourselves whole heartedly to the process of devotional service without a tinge of material motive.

So many times we have to be careful in our dealings with pure devotees because what appears incorrect in our eyes and even thru scriptures may be right in the eyes of Lord Jagannath. Arguing with our scholarly knowledge of scriptures is useless! Right is wrong and wrong is right. All is fair in love and war!

Here is a sweet story of Lord Jagannath from HH.Bhakti Purushottama Swami in this regard.

"There was a brahmana in Puri named Talicha Mohapatra. He was one of the pujaris of Lord Jagannath, and was very expert in all the scriptures. He was always clean and very fixed in his sad-hana. He was humble, sober, and was very dear to all the devotees. He always fed poor people and was fond of hearing krsna-kadia. He was engaged the whole day, from morning to night, in the per¬sonal service of Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra. These dei¬ties were everything to him.

One day the King came to Puri along with his entourage. When he entered the temple through the Lion Gate, some pujaris ran to inform Talicha Mohapatra about the arrival of the King, who wanted to take darshan of the deities. Talicha Mahapatra rushed to the deity room to make sure the King received proper darshan, but he saw that the deities were not wearing flower gar¬lands. Usually when the King came to the temple he would ask for maha-prasada garlands of the deities. Mohapatra thought, "It is a great discredit for me that the King will not get Jagannathprasada." He was very worried. Finally he took a flower garland from his own neck and put it on Lord Jagannath. The King arrived at the altar and took darshan of the dei¬ties. As usual, after taking darshan, the King asked the pujari, "Can I please have some flower garland prasada?' The pujari washed his hands and took the flower prasada from the Lord, handing it to the King. The King received the prasada with humility and devotion, and then left for his palace.

The flower garland was very beautiful. It was prepared out of jui flower, a special flower that is pure white with a strong fra¬grance. The King, while sitting on his throne, gazed upon the flower garland, and suddenly found one long black hair. He thought, "This is very strange. How can this hair be in the garland? Jagannath has no hair on His head. This brahmana must have taken the flower garland from his own head and put it on Lord Jagan¬nath, and then gave it to me, telling me it was the prasada of the Lord." The King was very upset. He ordered the presence of Mo¬hapatra immediately. When Mohapatra was brought in front the King, he saw that the King was trembling in anger and hissing like a snake. The King said, "I found a hair in the garland of the Lord. Tell me, when did the Lord develop hair on His head? Tell me the truth, otherwise you will face death." Mohapatra became very scared and prayed, "Lord, please protect me. I know this King is very strict. Who knows what kind of punishment he will give me! Better I lie and save myself from his punishment." So he told the King, "Yes. It is true. For some time now the Lord has been grow¬ing hair."

Then King said, "Tomorrow morning I will go to temple and you can show me personally that the Lord has grown hair on His head. If it's true, then all auspiciousness to you. But if you cannot show me hair on the Lords head, then you will be thrown out of my country. You know very well how strict I am in punish¬ing someone."

Talicha Mohapatra went back to temple and engaged him¬self in the service of the Lord. After finishing his services he of¬fered his prostrated obeisances and prayed, "O great-armed Lord, what more can I say to You? You have given such a big position to an ordinary person like me. As a result, now Your greatness is in question. Even if one pacifies and kisses a dog, or feeds nectar to a snake, at some time they will definitely vomit poison. A sinful per¬son like me was never fit to serve the Lord. Those lotus feet where Brahma and Shiva place their heads; those lotus feet which are served by Laxmi Devi constantly; the water washing those lotus feet which is carried by Lord Shiva, which has purified three planetary systems; those lotus feet which are rarely obtained by Suka, Sanatana, and Sanaka; those lotus feet which are served by all the great demigods; those lotus feet which are meditated upon by all the great yogis—I have a chance to serve those lotus feet even though I have an ordinary human body. I am worse than an insect and not eligible for this great service.

"O my Lord, You are Bhavagrahi, and I am an ordinary proud man. I am too puffed up. I could not recognize the Lord and so I committed such sinful actions. I dared to put flowers from my head onto Your head. I am still here to say this. By now You should have chopped off my head with Your Sudarshan-cakra. You kill me; I have no objection. But I do not want to live and be pun¬ished by the King. What more should I tell you? You are always en¬gaged in the welfare of Your devotees. I have heard that for devo¬tees You accept so much trouble. To prove this You are holding the mark of Srivasta on Your chest. I have seen this by my own eyes. That is why I have no fear. You are very merciful." The pujari con¬tinued, "You know that by the end of the night the King will take me and give me heavy punishment. How can I tolerate that? Better to take poison and commit suicide before I get caught by the King." After saying this, Mohapatra closed the temple doors and went back to his residence. He kept one glass of poison next to his bed, with a plan to drink it by the end of the night if the Lord did not arrange to protect him. He went to sleep expecting some miracle.

Lord Jagannath understood the mind of His devotee. He came to the place where Talicha Mohapatra was sleeping. The Lord appeared to him in his dream, and said to him, "Why are you so scared? After serving Me you have nothing to fear. As long as I am here at Nila-chala, what can this King do to you? Even if ten mil¬lion kings come they cannot harm you. Why are you so afraid of this King? Why do you think that I have no hair? Am I bald-headed? Don't you see I have also hair on My head? Do not be fearful. Tomorrow you go to temple. You can see I have so much hair on My head, which you can show to your king."

Mohapatra woke up and saw there was no one next to him. He thought that the Lord must have given His mercy in the form of a dream. Long before the end of the night he took his bath and went to the temple. He opened the door and looked at the Lord. He was surprised to see the Lord had long, thick black hair on His head, decorated with so many nice flowers. The hair was very long, reaching His waist and touching the ratna-simhasan. After seeing this, Mohapatra was very happy. Then he engaged himself in the service of the Lord. Now he was free from the fear of the King and his punishment.

Early in the morning the King came to the temple and said to Mohapatra, "Show me the hair on the head of the Lord." Then Mohapatra replied without any fear, "What is there for me to show you? You just go near the Lord and see for yourself whether He has hair on His head or not." The King went behind the Lord and was surprised to see the long, curly black hair of the Lord reaching down to His waist. The King asked the pujari, "How did you fix this hair on the Lord's head? Did you fix some hair with the help of glue, or is this real hair that the Lord has grown?" Moha¬patra said, "You can check yourself whether it is false hair or real hair." The King pulled a few of the hairs from Jagannath's head. Immediately blood started to flow from the Lords scalp. When the King saw this he fainted, falling to the ground. When he awoke, he ran to the Mohapatra and caught hold of his feet, saying, "Please save me. I am such a fool. I have now become a great offender of the Lord. Now I am doomed. How could I have known that the Lord has so much mercy upon you? Now I understand that the Lord is non-different from His devotee. Any offense done to a devotee the Lord accepts as if it has been done to Him. I am the greatest fool to commit this offense. I have jumped into the fire and eaten poison by offending you." The King fell at the feet of Mohapatra. The pujari picked him up and said, "You have no fault. This is the greatness of the Lord. He has forgiven my offenses and has shown His mercy to me." While they were talking like this, they both went behind the Lord. But they saw there was no hair on his head. The King said, "O my Lord, You can do anything. Your glo¬ries are unknown even to the devas. How can I understand Your mood? Please excuse my offenses. You are equal to every one. You have no enemy and no friend."

After offering his prayers, the King donated gifts of great opulence to the pujari and left happily for his palace. People were surprised to see this glorious pastime of Lord Jagannath. Talicha Mahapatra engaged himself in the service of the Lord. These are the glories of Lord Hari. He is the life and soul of His devotees. He is always with his devotees to help them in their troubles. The Lord is the friend of His devotees. He is always thinking about His devotees."

Krishna Krishna... Oh Krishna...I am coming to catch You

When Lord Caitanya sees the hue of the sky which is the blackish blue-Shyama color of the spiritual body of God, He gets mad after the sky and keeps running out of control. When we get mad after God in love, these symptoms manifest which are not very common in this world. But this is the ultimate perfection of life which is to relish the Transcendental mellows in intense separation of the loved one-Govinda(the object of our love).

Even in our normal life relationships, when we live away from our beloved ones, we feel the love magnified for them much more than usual.

The syllable 'Om'

The Sanskrit syllables and letters are represented in the symbols scientifically based on the origin of the sound. For instance the letter Om in Sanskrit has been symbolized on the basis of the sound.  Om- split as aaa oooo mmm the sound of the syllable mmm comes from chakra near the navel and hence the dot above curve you see in the symbol represents that. Similarly for others. If you study Sanskrit language and see, the English language appears stupid. The Sanskrit used in Bhagavad Gita is kind of elementary for Sanskrit scholars. Lord Krishna made it so simple yet it is a open secret that dull brains doing sense enjoyment can't understand or recognize. This is why it is mentioned as confidential knowledge all though available for everyone.

This Sanskrit language has been primarily and widely used in the previous yugas as well.

Pure Love comes without reason

Love has no reason. No one can force you to love someone but it has to be natural. In this world there is no love. Those who love God has nothing or no one to hate. But the genuine loving relationships among devotees with Krishna as the centre is everlasting and really beneficial for the soul. We learn proper behavior and etiquette in loving relationships with devotees which when matured will give us a chance to directly associate with The Lord in His abode.
