He was sending me a signal that for so long I had ignored

A song from George with deep meaning and mystical music. Looks like George is talking about Karma, eternity, reincarnation and Paramatma indirectly.

Lyrics:

On the street of villains taken for a ride
You can have the devil as a guide

Crippled by the boundaries, programmed into guilt
Til your nervous system starts to tilt
In a room of mirrors you can see for miles
But everything that's there is in disguise
Every word you've uttered and every thought you've had
Is all inside your file the good and the bad

But in the rising sun you can feel your life begin
Universe at play inside your DNA
You're a billion years old today
Oh the rising sun and the place it's coming from
Is inside of you and now your payment's overdue
Oh the rising sun, oh the rising sun

On the avenue of sinners I have been employed
Working there til I was near destroyed
I was almost a statistic inside a doctor's case
When I heard the messenger from inner space
He was sending me a signal that for so long I had ignored
But he held on to my umbilical cord
Until the ghost of memory trapped in my body mind
Came out of hiding to become alive

And in the rising sun you can hear your life begin
And it's here and there nowhere and everywhere
Though it's atmosphere is rare
Oh the rising sun and the place that it's coming from
Is inside of me and now I feel it constantly
Oh the rising sun, oh the rising sun

And in the rising sun you can feel your life begin
Universe at play inside your DNA
You're a billion years old today
Oh the rising sun and the place it's coming from

durban_temple_ssrrAlways thinking about ourselves is our biggest problem. We have to start preaching. Just like this temple; it is undoubtedly a very special place! I think that there is no temple quite like it in the entire world. It's a unique building; it really is. I mean inside, it is definitely dazzling or something like that. Let's say it's an inspired building - the architect was inspired by Krsna and the whole worship is very gorgeous and opulent.

But still, if the temple doesn't become the base from where the mercy goes out to the world then after a while, it becomes very dry. Even with all the opulence, with all the deity worship, with all the gorgeous arrangements and with all the festivals - it will become dry.

And Ratha Yatra, if it is just about us then that also becomes dry. If it's just about us having a good time then it will not satisfy the heart as long as we are concerned with having a good time. So, that is the key - to go beyond just enjoying our own parties and festivals!

Lamentation Upon Leaving Vrindavan

"My dear mind, why do contemplate leaving Prema-sarovara, this lake of liquid love, to wander throughout the world in search of material pleasure? Why leave this reservoir of prema, decorated with thousands of beautiful flowers, to find shelter in thorny bushes? Please meditate on the moonlike face of Srimate Radharani. You will find peace only by taking the shelter of the lotus feet of the daughter of King Vrsabhanu."

Remembering Vrindavan From Afar

"Aho! When even highly elevated saints of firm resolve are unable to directly perceive You even slightly, isn't it astonishing that I who am lower than a worm have nevertheless entertained the desire that You might be visible before my eyes, shameless and brazen creature that I am."

"Aho! O Sovereign Empress and Emperor of Vrindavan. Is it my fault? After all, who is there who has not become inebriated to the point of ecstatic madness by the elegance of Your eternally fresh charm, an abundance of noble virtues of the highest excellence?"

[ Srila Rupa Goswami, Utkalika-vallari, texts 35,36 ]

My Morning Prayer

via Indradyumna Swami's Facebook Notes by Indradyumna Swami on 2/1/13

This morning I woke up exausted from our previous night's festival in Surat. With 4 more to go in Gujarat - and many more throughout the world on the horizon - I took a deep breath and recited a prayer I remembered from childhood:

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint".

( Isaiah 40:31 )
