Svarupa Damodara And Devotees Chant The Name Of Krishna Into Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Ear

Svarupa Damodara And Devotees Chant The Name Of Krishna Into Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Ear

Svarupa Damodara, along with Govinda, stayed by the door to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's room, and heard that he was awake throughout the entire night, chanting Hare Krishna very loudly. When they heard no more chanting, Svarupa Damodara entered the room but could not find Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. All the devotees became anxious and looked everywhere for Lord Chaitanya, using a small lamp. They found him lying unconscious in a corner. His body had become elongated and all the joints in His arms, legs, neck and waist were separated by at least six inches. They saw no breath coming from his nostrils and His body temperature was very low. Seeing this, all the devotees were very unhappy, but they began to chant the holy name of Krishna very loudly into the ear of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. After chanting in this way for a long time, suddenly Chaitanya Mahaprabhu arose with a loud shout of "Haribol!" and His body returned to normal

I am not hungry but I eat that which is offered with love

Lord Sri Krishna said, "One has to endeavor so much to worship demigods. If one just offers Me with love and devotion, a flower, fruit, leaf, water I accept, but they must be offered with love. I eat that which is offered with love, although I have no desires and I am not hungry. Devotion is the appetizer that creates My appetite. A devotee's mood of love makes Me eat. A pure heart with no other desires, that is Bhakti"

Story of two lazy men...

Story of two lazy men...

Two very lazy persons lived jointly in a room. One winter night the house they lived in caught fire. Their room soon was burning on all sides. One of the lazy persons, feeling extreme heat on his back, awoke. But he was too lazy to even open his eyes. He alerted his friend by merely saying "B-B", which stood for "Back Burning." The other lazy man, not bothering to even open his eyes, said "M-A", for "Move Aside." The first man moved around in the bed a little, but finding no comfort anywhere, said, "The night must be over and the sun must be up. How else could it be so hot? Look and see if you left a window open through which the sunshine is now burning my back." The second man said, "Oh, too much bother. How can I open my eyes?"
And so the two lazy friends were roasted in the flames.

This story illustrates the plight of a person who, after taking to devotional service, succumbs to laziness and is caught in the fire of maya. Even though maya is consuming him from all sides, he does not make a real effort to save himself. In his blind slothfulness, he supposes that his problems are not so bad and thus risks total ruination in spiritual life.

Only Lord Nityananda Can See Lord Chaitanya

Lord Nityananda Prabhu influenced all the devotees in the temple to dance, and finally He Himself began dancing. Lord Chaitanya was observing the dancing of Lord Nityananda Prabhu. Nityananda Prabhu could see this, but others could not. It is stated several times in Chaitanya-caritamrita, Antya-lila, Chapter 2 that Lord Chaitanya always appears wherever Nityananda Prabhu dances in ecstasy. Thus Lord Nityananda Prabhu's dancing is so sweet, it cannot be properly described with words. Lord Chaitanya personally comes to see it.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Falls Unconscious Hearing a Cowherd Boy's Flute

Balabhadra Bhattacharya submitted his prayer before Lord Chaitanya that he desired to go to the banks of the Ganges. So, the next morning, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu got up early and took His bath. Then He became filled with ecstatic love, thinking how He now had to leave Vrndavana. Balabhadra Bhattacharya saw Him and said, "Let us go to Mahavana [Gokula].
Saying this, he had Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu get aboard a boat and they crossed the river. Rajaputa Krishnadasa, the Sanodiya brahmana and Balabhadra Bhattacharya's assistant brahmana were also with them. While walking, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu understood that the others were fatigued, and He took them beneath a tree to sit down. Near that tree there were many cows grazing. Suddenly a cowherd boy blew on his flute. The Lord was immediately struck with ecstatic love and He fell to the ground unconscious. He foamed at the mouth and even His breathing stopped.
At that time, ten Muslim cavalry soldiers rode up to that spot and saw the Lord unconscious. The soldiers thought, "This sannyasi must have possessed a large quantity of gold. These four rogues here must have taken away that sannyasi's riches after killing Him by making Him take the poison dhutura." They decided to arrest the four persons and kill them. Krishnadasa and the Sanodiya brahmana were fearless and they spoke very bravely. The brahmana said, "You Pathana soldiers are all under the protection of your king. Let us go to your commander and get his decision. This sannyasi is my spiritual master, and I am from Mathura. I am a brahmana, and I know many people who are in the service of the Muslim king. This sannyasi sometimes falls unconscious due to the influence of a disease. Please sit down here, and you will see that He will very soon regain consciousness and His normal condition."
