Srimad Bhagavatam 4.3.17:

Although the six qualities education, austerity, wealth, beauty, youth and heritage are for the highly elevated, one who is proud of possessing them becomes blind, and thus he loses his good sense and cannot appreciate the glories of great personalities.

PURPORT
It may be argued that since Dakṣa was very learned, wealthy and austere and had descended from a very exalted heritage, how could he be unnecessarily angry towards another? The answer is that when the qualities of good education, good parentage, beauty and sufficient wealth are misplaced in a person who is puffed up by all these possessions, they produce a very bad result. Milk is a very nice food, but when milk is touched by an envious serpent it becomes poisonous. Similarly, material assets such as education, wealth, beauty and good parentage are undoubtedly nice, but when they decorate persons of a malicious nature, then they act adversely. Another example, given by Cāṇakya Paṇḍita, is that a serpent that has a jewel on its head is still fearful because it is a serpent. A serpent, by nature, is envious of other living entities, even though they be faultless. When a serpent bites another creature, it is not necessarily because the other creature is at fault; it is the habit of the serpent to bite innocent creatures. Similarly, although Dakṣa was qualified by many material assets, because he was proud of his possessions and because he was envious, all those qualities were polluted. It is sometimes, therefore, detrimental for a person advancing in spiritual consciousness, or Kṛṣṇa consciousness, to possess such material assets. Kuntīdevī, while offering prayers to Kṛṣṇa, addressed Him as akiñcana-gocara, one who is easily approached by those who are bereft of all material acquisitions. Material exhaustion is an advantage for advancement in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, although if one is conscious of his eternal relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one can utilize one's material assets, such as great learning and beauty and exalted ancestry, for the service of the Lord; then such assets become glorious.

In other words, unless one is Kṛṣṇa conscious, all his material possessions are zero, but when this zero is by the side of the Supreme One, it at once increases in value to ten. Unless situated by the side of the Supreme One, zero is always zero; one may add one hundred zeros, but the value will still remain zero. Unless one's material assets are used in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, they may play havoc and degrade the possessor.

The reason that somebody leaves is that he had not developed Nistha

TODAY'S QUOTE BY OUR BELOVED SPIRITUAL MASTER

           Devotional Service

The reason that somebody leaves is that he had not developed Nistha, he did not have firm faith, which was because he did not take the medicine, which is Bhajan-Kriya. As a result of this, one's faith becomes weak. Therefore, we have to develop and come to the stage of nistha, and there is no alternative to bhajan-kriya to make one's faith strong.

Upon gaining this transcendental happiness thru transcendental senses,he thinks there's no greater gain!

The stage of perfection is called trance or samadhi, When one's mind
is completely restrained from material mental activities by practice
of Yoga. This is characterized by one's ability to see the self by the
pure mind and to relish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous
state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness and enjoys
himself through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never
departs from the truth and upon gaining this,he thinks there's no
greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never
shaken, even in the midst of greatest difficulty. This indeed is
freedom from all miseries arising from material contact-BG#6.20-23

Like all that Krishna Likes and Hate all that Krishna dislikes

If there's something that I like and Krishna does not like, I hate that. Whereas if there's anything that Krishna likes I too like that-Srimati Radhika

(Similarly the enemies of Krishna are enemies for His devotees and the enemies of devotees are enemies of Krishna. Because of the Love between Krishna and His devotees)

Sri Rukmini-If you are not prepared to accept me and save me from my marriage to Sisupala. I dont bother and I will perform penances

for one hundred lives until I attain You. That's the determination we should have.

Intense Greed that I am prepared to anything to get shelter at Krishna's Lotus feet is what it takes. Maya says why do you waste your time. Lets watch TV.

Why do you waste time? become this become that. A pure devotee says I will do anything to get Krishna.

Acceptance of the Lord as one's guardian or master. By constitution, We are servants, we are not masters. Whether you are a

devotee or someone you have to serve someone. you want to serve Ravan? you want to serve Krishna?

Self surrender. No reservation no holding back. A good mother will do anything for the child. Mother's have full self surrender to the children.

Best example is gopis. When the gopis where approached, Narada muni went to Brahmins and said Krishna has head ache. The only thing

that cures Him is the dust of your feet. You are joking and if we do that we will goto hell.

And then Narada muni went to Gopis, and said the only thing that cures is dust from your feet. The brahmins only thought of themselves

but the Gopis are always thinking of Krishna's pleasure.

Humiltiy means I am nothing more and nothing less..but an insignificant eternal servant of the Krishna. Thats humility.

Our designations here are just some roles.

Find those who are meek and humble. if you associate with them you will be happy and successful.

Why did Lord Rama worship Lord Shiva at Rameshwaram?

Attached are snaps of the Pamban bridge and also a temple in Sethu Vande(sea shore) from where Hanumanji took a look on Lanka.

Why did Lord Rama worship Lord Shiva at Rameshwaram?

People think that Supreme means he should always be kicking the head of others. This is the materialistic understanding of someone very powerful.
It's not necessary that the Lord should always kick everyone else all the time. But the Supreme Lord is Supremely affectionate to His devotees.
And Lord Shiva is His devotee.Any activity in the material world has an in-built fault which cannot be avoided. Of Course Lord Rama did not do anything wrong.
If anyone thinks Lord Rama is wrong, they are wrong.

After killing Ravana, Lord Rama came to worship Lord Shiva  as per the instruction of Agasthiya muni to wipe off any sins that might have incurred due to killing a brahmana. It was not
required for him to do so but because he was Mariyadha purusha avatar where he sets ideals for human beings to live, he worshipped Lord Shiva.

Also Lord Shiva wanted to have Caranamrita of Lord Rama. But being a mariyadha purusha avatar, Lord Rama could not do that. And so He went to the ocean, bathed
and then after He put the water of the ocean into kamandala. Then he brought the water for abhishek for the Shiva Linga.
In this way Lord Rama fulfilled the desire of Lord Shiva to give His charanamrita.
