No one attains any wealth without having given in charity in his previous life

The scriptures state that whatever wealth a person attains in his life is due to his having given charity in previous lives, and that if one has not given charity in previous lives, then even though he may sit atop a mound of gold as big as Mount Sumeru, he will still remain poor.

"Transcendental knowledge, spiritual education, satisfying wealth, and pleasing family members are acquired by a person who has given profuse charity. Whatever good a person does returns to him many fold."
In Manu-nitii, Manu MahArAja says, bhAgyaM phalanti sarvatra na cha vidyA na cha paurusham: "Whatever is predestined by ViddhAtA, the fortune-maker, will surely happen. One's so called good education, skill, and enthusiasm will not necessarily guarantee to bring one success."

Whatever charity a person gives in the form of education, money, fertile land, and the like is returned to him in a future lifetime. We gain what we have given, when given with a good heart. Indeed, whatever the Lord of destiny, the creator, has written as one's fortune will certainly come to pass. No one attains any wealth without having given in charity in his previous life. Oh best of the brahmins, since we are now poor, in our previous lives neither you nor I must have given any/sufficient charity to worthy persons. Therefore, Oh gracious husband, you should remain here with me. Without you I cannot live even a moment.

Mother Saci’s Dream - very interesting!

Mother Saci's Dream

Last night during in my dream I saw You and Nityananda. Both of You were five year old boys, fighting and running around the house. Then I saw both of You enter the Deity room and come out with the Deities of Krsna and Balarama in Your hands. Nitayananda held Krsna in His hands, and You had Balarama. I clearly saw all four of You fighting. I heard You saying, 'who are You two Pretenders? Get out of here. This house, these rooms, this milk, sandesa, yogurt, and everything else in this house belong to Us.' Then Nityananda said, 'those days are gone when You used to steal the butter and yogurt. The power of the cowherd boys is finished. Now the rule of the brahmanas is in force. Now You must recognize Us and give up accepting the offerings. If You don't give up, then we will beat You up!' Then both Krsna and Balarama replied, 'Don't blame Us. We're going to bind up both of You pretenders right now.'Then Balarama challenged Nityananda in an angry mood, 'If You play mischief with Us then I swear You will have to answer to Me.' Nityananda then replied 'I'm not afraid of You or Your Krsna. My Lord is Gaurachandra Visvambhara.' Then all four of You began quarrelling amongst Yourselves and stealing food from each other. I saw each of You snaching food right from the others' hand, and eat it. Then I saw how You all began taking the food right from each others' mouths and put it in Your own mouth. Then Nityananda called out to me, 'Mother, please give Me some rice to eat. I'm feeling hungry.' Then, at that moment I awoke from my dream and could understand nothing of the meaning.
