It is not so easy to stand naked before the Lord

Srila Prabhupada writes in Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead:
“The gopés were all simple souls, and whatever Krishna said they took to be true. In order to be freed from the wrath of Varunadev, as well as to fulfill the desired end of their vows and ultimately to please their worshipable Lord, Krishna, they immediately abided by his order.
Thus they became the greatest lovers of Krishna and his most obedient servitors. Nothing can compare to the Krishna consciousness of the gopés. Actually, the gopés did not care for Varuna or any other demigod. They only wanted to satisfy Krishna.” "It is not so easy to stand naked before the Lord. One must surrender everything — one’s possessions, one’s attachments, one’s fear, and one’s plans. One must strip oneself of all subtle conceptions of being the enjoyer, and of all plans for security, totally giving up all false pride and trying to protect oneself. Only after stripping oneself completely from all these can one truly stand before the Lord in utter surrender. Thus the gopés have established the highest standard of surrender for all devotees"

It's inauspicious for women to loosen the hair!

Krishna said, “It is very inauspicious that you are standing there with your hair hanging loose, especially for religious girls performing a vrata. Even ordinary ladies keep their hair tied up. What to speak of religious ladies, even celestial nymphs lose their beauty if they let their hair down. By doing this you have spoiled your beauty. Therefore you should tie your hair in a braid. Be religious!”

(Kadamba Kanana Maharaja, 17 January 2012, Radhadesh) Krsna is all attractive and somehow or other we must have the conviction that if we associate with Krsna, then even we are going to become attracted one day. Although so far we are not so much attracted, only a little, but it's going to happen, inevitably so. One can't get around it. If we just spend a little time with Krsna, attraction will automatically develop. This is a crucial point because here we see that it happens on its own and not that we have to somehow or other do it and force this feeling, give birth to this feeling of attraction to Krsna…no, it just automatically appears if we simply render service, if we simply become part of sankirtana or of glorifying Krsna- either by speaking, either by singing, either by making arrangement for Krsna's worship…it's all part of glorifying Krsna.

We have to BE 'Krishna Conscious'

Srila Prabhupada says: A cheater is taking the place of teacher. Therefore the whole world is degraded. You can cheat others that "I am in dress of a devotee," but what is your character? What is your actual valve? That has to be judged. That is called bonafide teacher. (Hawaii, January 17,1974)
  • Krishna mentions the process to attain Him - whatever is one's varna and asrama doesn't matter. The results of that are not to please ourselves but to please Krishna.
  • This means we have to be Krishna Conscious. Krishna is never fooled. We can put a show but it's Krishna who decides to take you back to Godhead - so unless we try to please Him, it's not going to work.
  • So the show can go on for every life, but sincerely trying to please Krishna, please the Vaisnavas - then it's a success.
  • If we think we get everything by our own arrangement, then others work more hard and they don't get it - so everything is God's grace. One has to be sober and see things as they are.
