Samskaras, lecture in a marriage ceremony-HH.Bhanu Swami Maharaj, Chennai,India

Marriage ceremony
There are various samskaras mentioned in the Vedic literature from the
time a person is born. There's a name giving ceremony for the baby at
first. Then after a year, feeding rice ceremony for the baby.
Upanayana(before sending to Gurukul),From 5yrs upto 25 yrs the child
is sent to Gurukul,Vedic education where the child is taught to become
a graduate on 1Veda,2Vedas(Dwivedi),3Vedas(Trivedi),4Vedas(Caturvedi).
But today children are not sent to Gurukul rather to the public
schools with the idea that they cant get a job in the world to make a
living. Also the Vedas are very complex to understand. In today's life
no one ever wants to take up something complicated. But Krishna has
made things very simple for the Kali Yuga.He summarized the entire
Vedic literature into Bhagavad Gita which doesnot take 20yrs to study
and put in practice. In the worst case, children can be sent to public
schools&also simultaneously equipped with Spiritual education side by
side. But the main thing is to develop affection for Krishna&not just
the
Rituals or scholarly studies. Also pure Devotional Service should be
taught, not like I offer You such and such,You give me this,You give me
that. The Actual purpose which is to develop love for Krishna is
fulfilled by performing Devotional Service on a daily basis.

And once the children finish the studies, the next thing is marriage
samskara where the man is allowed to maintain attachment to the
wife, children, family but with proper Spiritual knowledge. The Vedic
mantras used in these ceremonies are non-different from Krishna
Himself.
So there's purification in these ceremonial activities. But today it's
a disaster without having Spiritual knowledge when the people get
married, their lives become ruined. And the children born will not be
of good character,so the whole country gets rumbled by such
population. In today's world especially in the east, marriage is not a
custom&they live separately son, father, mother. They are not
protected. They think why to waste money in having these rituals
rather spend that money on something else.
Even in India these things are becoming predominant. In due course of
time say 20 or 50 yrs, people will think that we dont know the meaning
of these rituals so why should we perform these rituals. And the
culture which helps the humans beings for the gradual upliftment of
Spiritual life gets lost.
Even in family life, there are things like offering bhoga to the
deities etc. offering also requires some qualification.
But chanting the holy name does nt require any qualification&the Lord
is most pleased if one chants His name more than even offering-Notes
from HH.Bhanu Swami Maharaj lecture in the marriage ceremony of
HG.Rasa Rasika Devi Mataji.

(Kadamba Kanana Swami, 2005)

The advanced stages of devotional service is when you are deeply attached
to Krishna and then you develop all these great symptoms of 'bhāva'. You do
not want to waste time….you are totally fixed….you want to only serve
Krishna! Totally detached from the material things and you are free from
pride.

Hope against hopes means:

"Even though I am not qualified still Krishna will surely be merciful to
me".

Intense eagerness, not just 'laulyam'- intense eagerness to be purified but
'samut- kantha' – intense eagerness for the association of Krishna. Here in
'bhāva,' the eagerness relates to the association of Krishna constant
taste for hearing…addiction to glorifying Krishna…would love to live in the
dham. These are all qualities of the highly advanced devotees!
