If we think that there is more juice in one thing than another, then we are not yet accessing the actual juice! The actual juice is by being a servant! If we are thinking that one type is better than another – if we think that:
"Well preaching is austere than Vrindavan – being in the Holy Dham is all nectar" – that means that we are still in the spirit of enjoyers and not in the spirit of servants, because otherwise we wouldn't make that distinction!

Relationship with the devotees is precious!

Family of Vaisnavas is somehow or other our support and Srila Prabhupad made this movement and it is a very personal movement.
In the beginning we overlook the fact of how important relationships are, because we are not use to it.
In material world when the relationship doesn't work you just cut it off and try the other one and then the other one…
So many friends came – so many friends went in our material life – but spiritual relationships are very different because devotees are very rare, therefore devotees are very precious and the relationship with the devotees is precious.
Once the relationship is broken it's difficult to repair. Like a broken pot… So, relationship also…
Therefore with devotees we can't just afford mentality:
"Well, if doesn't work get rid of this one and get the other one." – Because the day will come that we will need all the devotees. The day will come that we will very much depend of Vaisnavas.
The Vaisnavas are sustaining us in our spiritual life, without them it becomes so difficult and the day will come when all artificial behavior in our relationships will have to go.
It will have to go, because that can not sustain us. Time will test us.
They say:" it all comes out in a wash." It means that sooner or later it has to be real.
We need genuine relationship with devotees, therefore we must be careful to make sure that we avoid unpleasant exchanges between devotees. Even in sake of service one must be careful with unpleasant relationships.
Friendship between Vaisnavas.

Devotional service is based on the principle of dasya and service.

Service attitude. The one thing that is the very centre of spiritual life is dasya.

A devotee therefore must learn to become a servant – and it's not automatic.

It comes by practice and therefore we must engage in activities of service and that gradually will change our mentality from being the master and enjoyer.

This tendency to be the master is deeply rooted and it may come out again in devotional service.

Influenced By Spontaneous Love

Lord Caitanya's Movement is the movement of spontaneity. It is not the movement of devotional service according to rules and regulations. Of course, in Lord Caitanya's Movement, rules and regulations are part of the process, but one is meant to go beyond that to the spontaneous platform and that is being recommended.

Lord Caitanya particularly came to teach how to be influenced by spontaneous love…It is about Krsnaprema. Therefore I think that what will happen is that we will see people just totally absorbed. There will be Kirtan everywhere, in every house. The evil eye will disappear, and instead of that light of the TV reflecting on the walls of every living room, there will be Kirtan in the house.

Free From Material Desire

(HH Kadamba Kanana Swami, Brisbane, Australia, March 2011)

There are many challenges in spiritual live, that we are facing. And if we think:

"What is the biggest challenge that we are facing in spiritual life?" – Then, we think, if you really think about it, most people would say: "Material desires!"

"If only I could become free from my material desires, then, oh then, then it would be easy. Then I could fly in Krishna consciousness, because I have taste for Krishna consciousness; but I also have these material desires! If only I was free from these material desires"

This many people would say. Therefore it seems the biggest obstacle in spiritual life: 'Our material desires.'

But that is not all what actually the conclusion of the scriptures is. The conclusion of the scriptures has a totally different angle on the matter. The scriptures are saying, the biggest problem is not material desires, because material desires are doomed, they can't survive – the one thing, that is the problem in spiritual life are offences, offences made: against the Name and against the Vaishnavas: disrespect for the Name,

disrespect for the Vaishnavas,

disrespect for the Deities,

disrespect for the Scriptures…..

That kind of attitude can cause delay in spiritual progress. Therefore that is our biggest problem.

That kind of attitude can bring outs the material desires, which otherwise will automatically diminish. Therefore, this attitude of serving the Vaishnavas and treating the Vaishnavas with the greatest respect is actually the solution in our spiritual life.

It will take us up through the tipping point, to the point, where we will begin to experience taste.
