Q: When I speak to people about their problems, I get overwhelmed with or drained by their problems. What to do?

A: You need to change your perception of their problems and your role as a helper. The problems people face are not meant to crush them (or you). They are meant to help them learn, grow and become stronger. Your role is to help them see their problems as opportunities to make advancement and raise consciousness. Then their problems are not a burden even for them, what to speak of you. With that fresh spiritual perspective, their problems become an exciting challenge and opportunity.

The  best way to help people is to help them help themselves. In order to do that, they need to struggle in order to get stronger and wiser. You are not a problem solver but a facilitator of their growth and empowerment. In this way you do greater service for them then simply helping them.
